Healthy balanced meal on a rustic table, telos rx vs BB Health Plus

Choosing between telos rx and BB Health Plus comes down to which format you want and what you are willing to pay for it. telos rx is cheaper on injectable semaglutide, injectable tirzepatide and microdosed tirzepatide. BB Health Plus is cheaper on oral GLP-1 capsules and offers a microdosed semaglutide. Both display LegitScript credentials, and both require approval by a licensed provider.

The short answer

For injections, telos rx costs less. Compounded semaglutide is as low as $99 a month with us against $179 a month at BB Health Plus. If you want a needle-free capsule, BB Health Plus lists a lower monthly price than our oral GLP-1, and we would rather say that plainly.

What is telos rx?

telos rx is an online-first, asynchronous telehealth service for weight management. You complete a short intake online, in about five minutes. A US-licensed provider reviews it without a scheduled call or video visit.

The program is built around compounded GLP-1 medication. That includes compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide, prepared by partner compounding pharmacies in the United States. Our pharmacies are VialsRX and Jungle Jim's, and our providers are Arora Health Group.

If you are approved, your plan includes free 2-day shipping, unlimited care-team messaging, quarterly labs and dose adjustments. You can cancel anytime with no fee. You pay nothing if a provider declines you, and plans are FSA and HSA eligible. telos rx is LegitScript-certified.

What is BB Health Plus?

BB Health Plus trades as Bodybuilding Health+. It is a telehealth platform connected to the Bodybuilding.com brand, and its site says it is operated by Dynamo Group LLC. The positioning leans into fitness, training and body composition.

Weight management is one of three programs. The others cover longevity, with NAD+ and sermorelin, and sexual performance, with tadalafil and PT-141. It also lists newer peptide options such as GHK-Cu and glutathione.

The process is fully online. You complete an assessment, and their site says a licensed provider reviews it within 24 hours. If a prescription is written, a partner pharmacy fills it and ships it to your door with free shipping.

Several things deserve credit. They name their medical group, Lion MD, and list two lead physicians with their NPI numbers. They name four partner pharmacies in their FAQ: Belmar, Strive, Epiq Scripts and Casa Pharma Rx. Plenty of services in this category name neither, so that is real transparency.

Their compounding disclosure is also clear. They state that compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not approved by the FDA. They also say the FDA has not evaluated them for safety, effectiveness or quality. Their site displays a LegitScript seal.

Medications: what each program offers

Both services are built on the same two molecules. Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist. Tirzepatide acts on two receptors, GLP-1 and GIP. A provider decides which is appropriate for you, if either is.

The compounded versions offered by both services are not FDA-approved. For background, see the NIH NIDDK overview of prescription weight-management medication and the FDA overview of drug compounding.

This is where BB Health Plus is closer to us than most competitors. Their online intake offers each molecule three ways: a standard weekly injection, a microdose injection, and microdosing oral capsules. That is a broad menu, and it matches ours on the needle-free front.

Our needle-free oral GLP-1 dispenses oral semaglutide or oral tirzepatide, at the clinician's discretion. Both companies therefore cover both molecules without a needle. On that point it is parity.

The difference on microdosing is narrower than it looks. We offer microdosed tirzepatide as its own plan. BB Health Plus offers microdosed tirzepatide and microdosed semaglutide. If a lower-dose semaglutide start is specifically what you want, they list it and we do not.

Key takeaway: Both programs cover semaglutide and tirzepatide, with injections and a needle-free option. telos rx is cheaper on every injectable plan. BB Health Plus is cheaper on oral capsules and adds a microdosed semaglutide.

Pricing and transparency

Both services publish prices before you sign up, which makes a direct comparison fair. telos rx publishes these figures:

  • Compounded semaglutide, as low as $99 per month.
  • Compounded tirzepatide, as low as $139 per month.
  • Microdosed tirzepatide, as low as $116 per month.
  • Needle-free oral GLP-1, from $9 a day.

BB Health Plus lists these on its site and in its online intake:

  • Compounded semaglutide injection, $179 a month, falling to about $140 a month on a 12-month prepaid bundle.
  • Compounded tirzepatide injection, $209 a month, or $537 prepaid for three months, which is $179 a month.
  • Microdose injections, $159 a month for semaglutide and $179 a month for tirzepatide.
  • Microdosing oral capsules, $179 a month for semaglutide and $199 a month for tirzepatide.

On injections the gap is wide. Even their best prepaid semaglutide rate sits well above our $99. Their cheapest tirzepatide injection rate needs three months paid upfront, and it is still $40 above our $139.

On oral, they win. Our needle-free option is from $9 a day, and across a month that comes to more than their $179 or $199 capsule price. If a pill is what you want and price decides it, BB Health Plus is the cheaper route.

Two details are worth reading carefully. Their longer tirzepatide bundles are not always cheaper per month. Their homepage shows the 12-month tirzepatide bundle at a higher monthly rate than the 3-month one. Check the per-month figure before you prepay for a year.

They also run a first-month discount. At the time of writing their GLP-1 page advertised $100 off, and their intake banner showed $150 off. Compare the price you pay from month two onward, because that is the figure that lasts. Start your intake to see your own plan price with us.

How the process works

With telos rx, you complete a roughly five-minute intake online. You answer questions about your health history, current medication and goals. A US-licensed provider reviews it asynchronously, with no appointment to book. If you are approved, your medication ships free with 2-day delivery.

With BB Health Plus, you complete an assessment their GLP-1 page describes as taking two to three minutes. Their site says a licensed provider reviews it within 24 hours. If a prescription is written, it ships from a partner pharmacy in discreet packaging.

Asynchronous is worth defining. It means no scheduled call and no video visit. You submit your information, a provider reads it on their own time, and the decision comes back to you.

BB Health Plus does not say whether its review is asynchronous or includes a call, so count that as not publicly listed. Neither service prescribes automatically. Any medication is subject to medical approval by a licensed provider.

What happens if you are declined

This is the one area where the two services clearly differ on policy. With telos rx, you pay nothing if a provider declines you.

BB Health Plus says on its GLP-1 page that there is no commitment until a provider approves you. Their terms of service add that medical consultation fees are not eligible for a refund. They also state that prescription products cannot be returned.

Those statements may fit together in practice. Even so, it is worth asking them directly what you would be charged if a provider says no. That question matters most to exactly the people who turn out not to be eligible.

Support after you start

telos rx includes unlimited care-team messaging, dose adjustments and quarterly labs in the plan price. The clinical relationship continues after the first shipment. You are not charged extra to ask a question.

BB Health Plus says its care team is available for questions, check-ins and next steps, and lists an email support address. Their FAQ says plans can be adjusted or cancelled at any time through support. They do not publish details of lab monitoring, so count that as not publicly listed rather than absent.

If included lab work matters to you, telos rx names it explicitly. Begin your online visit when you are ready.

Safety and disclosure

Both programs are provider-gated. A licensed provider reviews your history before anything is prescribed, and both say so clearly.

GLP-1 medication is not right for everyone. Providers screen for a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer and for multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2. They also screen for a history of pancreatitis, and for pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Common early side effects include nausea and other digestive symptoms, which often ease as the body adjusts. Share your full health history at intake so your provider can make a safe call. Approval is subject to medical review and is never automatic.

Which service is right for you?

Recommended
telos rx

Best for the lowest monthly price on injectable semaglutide, injectable tirzepatide and microdosed tirzepatide. Quarterly labs are included, review is asynchronous, and you pay nothing if declined.

BB Health Plus

Best if you want oral GLP-1 capsules at a lower monthly price, or a microdosed semaglutide. It also suits people drawn to a fitness-focused brand.

For most people starting on an injection, telos rx is the stronger pick on cost. If a needle-free capsule is the priority and price decides it, BB Health Plus has the edge. Our needle-free oral GLP-1 intake is there if you would rather stay with us.
